Cycle World Superstore has a long power sports history in Toronto, Ontario. The building at 4545 Sheppard Avenue East was constructed in 1972 and Nelson Honda was among the first tenants. Several years later, Nelson Honda was bought out by the owner of the building who expanded the business into a multi-line OEM dealership, renaming it Cycle World Superstore. Cycle World Superstore quickly became a landmark location for many power sports enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, John Pugh, who had previously owned and operated three of Ontario's largest Kawasaki dealerships, opened an independent dealership in 1992 in downtown Toronto on River Street called Motorcycle Superstore. The 5,500 Sq. Ft. store was packed to the rafters and its loyal customers came to know it as the place to go if you wanted good deals on used bikes, new parts, and accessories.

In June 2007, feeling ready to retire after 36 years in the power sports business, John Pugh had decided to sell the Motorcycle Superstore property and liquidate his stock. Oddly enough, and sadly, after 30 years of serving the power sports community, Cycle World Superstore closed its doors in August 2007, and the building was put up for sale.

Mr. Pugh's retirement plans quickly changed. He realized that, with both stores gone, a large part of the power sports community would be left under-served in Toronto.So he purchased the Cycle World Superstore property, renovated the two buildings‒adding, for example, a new motorcycle showroom and eight new service technician bays‒expanded the inventories tremendously, and re-opened the new and improved Cycle World Superstore March 15, 2008.

Loyal customers have been pouring into what has become Ontario's and Canada's "largest and best motorcycle shop" ever since, and for that we are sincerely grateful. A warm thank-you to all of our customers!
